I recently spoke with my dear friend Nicky Clinch on her Soul Surgery podcast. We talk about fully surrendering to what is and letting go of who we think we are, in order to come home to our highest self. Hopefully this podcast can give you strength in difficult situations and help you find that medicine that already exists inside of you to help you heal and grow.
In February my husband Roger and I took advantage of a break in my cancer treatment to take a very spontaneous trip to Vietnam. It was truly a journey between heaven and earth. I hope you enjoy reading the article as much as I enjoyed writing it. Photos by Roger Cannon.
I recently joined Serena and Sarah for Episode 21 of the Kitchen Table podcast. In this episode we talked about three of my favourite lockdown ingredients and their values within Chinese Medicine, why adopting a flexible attitude and letting go of control is imperative during lockdown and the ways nutrition has evolved and why diet culture and obsession can be damaging.
I talked to my good friend Jodie about creating a fertile existence. Tune in to hear about my views on success, staying relevant, overcoming my fear of needles and how that led to my acupuncture career, as well as my thoughts on plant medicine and herbs and how they help us to respect the planet.
Tucked away on Costa Rica’s Southwest Pacific side lies the Osa Peninsula, one of the country’s most wild and remote spots and, moreover, one of the most bio diverse rainforests in the world. Perched right on the end of the peninsula, nestled in the trees, is the natural haven that is El Remanso.

Prioritising sex….over yoga!

Be prepared to have several “this is information I didn’t know I needed, but I’m glad I know now” moments!
‘We can’t pin it down to one thing but increasingly our environment doesn’t support our fertility,’ says Emma. ‘Our lifestyles are busier. We work longer hours and we are always ‘‘on’’ which creates more adrenaline, a signal of danger, in the body. We are designed to have babies when we feel safe so if we’re constantly flooded with adrenaline, there’s no sense of safety.
A planetary retrograde can bring on a heightened awareness to issues, opportunities and situations that correspond to the domain of each planet. As Mercury rules communication, learning, thinking, reasoning and negotiating, during this planet’s retrograde period, we can expect mishaps and mistakes in these domains. It’s not ALL bad, but it can certainly feel that way.
I joined Dr Anita Mitra (AKA The Gynae Geek) on Venetia’s podcast Talking Tastebuds. This is a live podcast and we discuss plenty! Whenever I travel I have a little first aid kit of natural remedies to help me adapt to the change in climate, water and food. This ritual started over 20 years ago in the 90’s when we would go to raves and festivals, for as much as I like a good dance I am really sensitive and always took a little natural first aid kit with me, much to the amusement of all my friends.
This week I spoke to Liz Earle on her Wellbeing podcast. We talked about many aspects of fertility, health and everything in between! We discuss the difference between fertile infertile and sub fertile, the importance of gut health in fertility, ways to aid and preserve fertility through cancer treatment, how I can support women going through peri-menopause and menopause, and much more.
Diet and lifestyle play important roles in male health and fertility. There is evidence that specific nutrients support fertility. Good sperm health includes count, morphology (structure) and motility (movement).
This week I spoke to Madeleine Shaw on her podcast, ‘Get Your Glow Back‘. This episode is for everyone. Not just for those who are wanting to conceive and get pregnant, but also for those who actually have never thought about getting pregnant just yet. Her I talk about how important fertility is for everyone. We chat about why you need to be thinking about fertility before even wanting to get pregnant, foods to eat and not eat, how to manage PCOS and her thoughts on the contraceptive pill!
A fresh herb pesto livens up the palate and the plate with its vibrant flavour and colours. A traditional pesto is made with basil, pine nuts, garlic, cheese and olive oil, but because you can use such a wide range of leafy greens or aromatic herbs and nuts of your choice, pesto can be a showcase for your imagination or for whatever is in season – such as wild garlic leaves in the spring.
